
OSPESCA, the Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector Organization in Central America receives the “Margarita Lizárraga Medal” granted every two years by the FAO.
OSPESCA was recognized by the FAO Fishing Committee as the leading organization in this field and highlighted its commitment to improve sustainable fisheries practices across the region. OSPESCA is considered the model to follow in other countries due to its practical, tangible and sustainable approach.
The award ceremony will take place in June 2013 at the FAO World Conference
